Having cool contacts is a big advantage that a lot of people don’t make use of.
When people think of cool contacts they may think of something that makes them look like vampire or contacts that are used only for halloween for the purpose of adding to their costume. But even when it’s no Halloween you can sport contacts that match your outfit, enhance your own eye color or change your eye color altogether. Most people think of contacts only for prescription purposes but the truth is that you don’t have prescription contacts in order to wear contacts at all. Once you have the contacts in you forget they’re even there as they don’t stand in the way or change the overall tint of what you’re viewing and they certainly don’t make things blurry, this means that anyone of any age can enjoy contacts, not just people with poor eyesight. You can however get prescription contacts that are also in a specific color so you can have dual benefits.
If you’re thinking of going out to get some cool contacts in order to enhance or change your appearance you may be worried about how difficult they are to put in. This is a common concern with people , especially those who have never used any type of contacts before as it’s a very unnatural feeling to put anything into your eye. While nobody can say that it’s a comfortable experience putting in contacts for the first time, it’s definitely something that can be learned and eventually be completed start to finish in under a minute flat (or less) without almost no comfort. Building up the nerve to do it is going to take some time and patience and at first most people really struggle with trying to get the contact in your eyes. You start off worrying that you’re going to poke your eye (and you will!) or of course the phobia of losing the contact behind your eye-ball which can’t physically even happen. These are normal worries that people have that eventually get ignored once they burn past the beginning phases. As with anything, persistence is key and although you’ll be very frustrated at first, don’t give up because the benefits of having a case full of cool contacts at your disposal for any night of the week are a lot.

We’ve all been to the cinema and seen a science fiction film at one point or another. Maybe it was a film that had aliens in it or some type of monster, or possibly just a character in it that was portrayed as a very unique type of person ; in most cases they were wearing some pretty cool contacts to get the effect! A not so subtle example however would be in Star Wars Episode I. The very cool looking character “Darth Maul” obviously had a painted face that looked fantastic, but would it have looked so good if he just had regular looking eyes? The eyes are a very important part of the costume that we may not realize, because we are constantly looking into peoples eyes when we talk to them. If we had looked and seen just regular looking eyes without cool contacts in then the character would have lost its effect. But when we look into Darth Mauls eyes we clearly see the sinister character they are trying to portray.
How cool contacts effect characters in movies is an important thing to remember because it can effect how people feel about you. Because people are constantly looking into our eyes, if we were to walk around with some custom contacts in that were red, people might subconsciously think we’re angry. Of course consciously they would recognize and know that they are simply contacts but on another level it could change the way they treat you; maybe this would be a good thing to wear if you’re a repo man! On the other hand, people may just think you’re high all the time which would be a bad thing also, especially if you’re pulled over by the cops. So choose which type of cool contacts you want to wear wisely, it could definitely effect more than your eyes!
Previously we mentioned that the type of contacts you wear in your eyes can have different effects on peoples moods when they look at you, as well as the type of mood you’re in. It’s been said that the “eyes are the windows to the soul” and whether or not you’re a religious person or not, most would agree that by looking at peoples eyes you can tell a lot about them. For this reason it’s important that people understand the different ways that certain cool contacts or scary contacts could have an impact on your relationships or how people see and treat you.
Many people think that some of the most attractive eyes on a person are blue eyes, some might say green, while others like brown. So depending on the person you’re talking to, wearing a specific type of color contacts could actually create attraction! It’s been said that attracition isn’t a choice so wearing the right type of contacts can be a very powerful decision, but if you could help your attraction with someone by wearing a certain color of contacts, would you be embarrassed to let them know that it isn’t your true eye color? One may argue that wearing cool contacts to help create attraction is just like wearing makeup, or put styling your hair, it’s not how you normally look so why should it matter? This of course comes down to the different types of people that you’ll encounter and what they’re comfortable with. Most likely you would be hard pressed to find someone who would only date a person with a specific eye color, so the good news is you could use it to create attraction sub consciously but in the end not have it effect your long term results with that person.
Some people can also use contact lenses in other social aspects. What if you didn’t want someone to see where you were looking? If you were able to wear some contacts that were all black but translucent enough to see through you could play poker without people being able to see your eyes and without people being able to see where you’re looking. They say that when you see something you like your pupils dialate. This is a powerful read (or “tell” as it’s known in the poker world) that, depending on how much you’re playing for, could cost you thousands of dollars! Currently most poker players simply wear sunglasses, but it probably isn’t too far in the future when they will be wearing black contacts – how intimidating would that be to see the President of the United States standing next to his secret service men standing there with black eyes? Now that would be some cool contacts!
It may sound crazy but a quick search on ebay or amazon and you may find yourself looking at some pretty cool contacts but that have been used. Your first natural response would be to think “no way!” and for good reason. As mentioned, contacts are long sense known for prescription purposes which means that the specific contacts are meant for specific people, not for resale. But since not all contacts are prescription this opens up the door for other people to use them if you feel comfortable doing so. You may think it’s dirty wearing somene elses contacts, it’s also good to think that contacts are sterilized and cleaned and can be cleaned again once you receive them.
Purchasing used contacts is just like purchasing a used shirt off of E-bay, it’s most certainly been worn by someone before you. Their sweat, dirty, and body have been all over it but people typically don’t have an issue with this. It’s easiest if you realize that it’s just in your head that any type of dirtyness can affect you, since in most cases it can’t.
There are however some risks that you should take into account before purchasing used contacts. You want to be sure that the contacts have not been torn or physically damaged in any way. This sometimes can happen if the contacts are left in a very hot place, or if it’s dropped on a grainy surface that can physically scrath the contact lense. It will be difficult to spot these imperfections at first, but upon close examination you should be able to see them. Since bacteria can get into contacts it’s also very important that you do a very thorough cleaning to the contacts to ensure that all bacteria has been removed. Your eyes can become infected if you’re not careful.
Overall it’s generally safe to purchase used contacts, but unless the cost is drastically lower than new contacts it’s best to purchase them new. That way you can be more confident there isn’t something wrong with them before you get it.
